I had this last week and it was very painfull. My doc said it was inflamation between my ribs and rib cartlidge. Mine went away in about 1 1/2 days. Very,Very painfull though. I am 21 wks by the way.

I had this right about 19 weeks and it lasted until the baby dropped at 34 weeks. My doctor said that it was the cartlidge between my ribs expanding with my uterus. He said it`s perfectly normal, and although quite uncomfortable at times, it`s harmless. I learned some stretching exercises that helped and now that the baby had dropped, the discomfort and pain has gone! Best of luck!!
