i`m 29 weeks and get braxton hicks several times a day. u might notice them more if u have a full bladder, have been in a position for a long time, or on your feet for a long time. for me the contractions have become more intense and last for up to like 40 seconds as opposed to little tightenings at around 16 weeks.

i didnt get one single braxton hicks until a week before i delivered, i was 38 weeks

I was about 26 weeks when I felt my first BH but some people can definitely feel them earlier. It sounds like it was probably a BH. Your tummy goes rock hard and very tight, almost like you`re trying to tense your tummy muscles. They don`t hurt but can feel quite uncomfortable some times as you get further into your pregnancy.

That is probably what it was. You are at the right stage to start getting them. I have them all the time.. No pain but gets tight
