DeklansMommy (367.1 days ago)I`ve flown with mine several times...the first time at about 3 months. He was fine!! Just try to feed (breast or bottle) during the take-off and landing (the pressure changes and that`ll help their ears `pop` and adjust to the pressure). My son loved the fact hat he was being held by me the entire time (except take-off and landing...I had him in his carrier that those points). But I`ve never been concerned on a plane with fussy children...that`s a risk you take with public transportation!! :) And if your baby DOES cry and a few silly people act miffed at you, pay them no mind. During one of the several flights I`ve taken mine on, my son cried for about 15 minutes solid. Then a nice older lady with a brightly colored outfit turned around and asked if I would mind if she held him awhile. Well, she wasn`t threatening, and it`s not like she can leave the plane, so I said yes. He was about 9 months at this point. She took him, and he found her bright outfit so interesting that he stopped crying at once!! People are generally more sympathetic than you think! ;)
My1stbaby! (367.8 days ago)Don`t worry about it. If it happens it happens. Have her something to drink and something she can do to entertain herself.
mommylaurie (367.8 days ago)I flew with my son from US to England (with layovers and everything over 12 hours) when he was just a few months old. He got sick (something I gave him), but did not cry at all. He slept most the time. Just keep bottle or breast around and use it as a time to cuddle and relax. Just remember if you are stressed, the baby will feel it and react. Keep yourself calm.
AliciaH (367.9 days ago)I can`t stand when people get irritated by little bitty babies! If she cries, TOO DARN BAD! She`s barely 2 months old, how much entertaining can you possible do? Hopefully she sleeps but you never know. One time I was at Disneyland waiting for the tram to come to take us to the parking lot and this couple had a little 10 month old who wouldn`t stop crying (he was OBVIOUSLY very tired) and everybody kept turning their heads around and staring at them. I got so upset for this couple, they looked so lost! Finally, I LOUDLY said, `Poor thing, he`s probably very tired. And I bet the two of you probably are also!` They said yes and people finally stopped staring.
summerisis (367.9 days ago)Most children that cry on an airplane do so because of the pressure on their ears. Do an internet search to see how you can remedy that. I know that they recommend that infants feed during take-off and landing because the sucking helps to alleviate the problem. If your baby cries, don`t be afraid to walk around holding the baby -- assuming that it calms the child. Most people just don`t like a screaming child from the back of the plane that they assume nobody is comforting.
magnolia76 (367.9 days ago)I think things will go smoother than you think. Just have a bottle ready, and if you use a pacifier have it handy, and don`t be afraid to do silly stuff to entertain her. But chances she won`t fuss to much
srv4lvr (367.9 days ago)Just bring plenty of things to keep her entertained and try to make her hold out on napping until the flight if possible. Even if she does cry I am sure everyone will understand :)
kathleen (368 days ago)i`m sure people would understand if she cries 4 a bit and if they don`t then o well never mind, i would not worry about it after all she is a baby. i`d try to feed her as the plane is taking off so her ears don`t pop but i think she will most probably sleep though it at that age anyway
