I was told to let a baby cry for a little bit to develope their lungs, but I just read a study that said crying doesn`t help lung developement at all.

Worst advice? That`s hard as I hear so much of it, but prob. to bundle up your kid with extra blankets and clothes when they have a high fever to `break` it. In one of my natural childbirth books (Spiritual Midwifery), the author tells her patients in pre-term labor to get sloppy drunk to slow down or stop contractions. That`s pretty outdated as well....

Cosleeping is horrible ~ maybe for some it is but I am very close to my children, neither have issues and they eventually went to their owns beds. What works for one doesnt always work for another. Was also told when my son was 2 that giving him a baby doll would make him Gay ~ WRONG! lol. It will teach him to be a good parent. My boys both played with dolls, barbies, strollers, shopping carts etc and I know when they are parents themselves they will be great husbands helping out with all chores and parenting needs. :)

Yeah... I`m with Jeanette. A woman once told me to just let an infant cry to teach her to self-soothe. I remember thinking, `Are you joking? Self-soothe?` This infant was like five weeks old and this woman was worried that the child would learn to manipulate through crying. That is just not possible. Babies cry for a reason. And there is NO possibility of spoiling an infant with too much love and nurturing.

LOL! I just hate the old wives tales, like if I cross my legs people tell me not to do that cuz I`ll hurt the baby. Gimme a break! Or that if you lay out in the sun the ultraviolet (did I spell that right?) will radiate into my stomach and burn the baby! LOL

I would seriously have to drink my own pee before I`d force someone else to drink theirs.

I was pricked by a poisonous plant once in Mexico and the Mexican doctor told me to pee on my hand. I was like, `I ain`t gonna pee on my own hand!` So, when I got back to the USA, I went to see my doctor and told him what had happened, and he said, `You should have peed on your hand. You would have avoided this infection.` LOL!!!

i agree with danyl. echo has the worst advice out there. i am pretty sure she is talking about thrush, but i am also pretty sure baby pee is not the cure.

I was so oing to put oe down, but no matter what, echo wins!!! Thats gross!

echo (366.9 days ago)
someone told me when the baby gets that white stuff in there mouth to take the babies fresh pee and rub it on there mouth! eww

My friend just had a baby, and her mom warned me not to spoil my infant like she was doing. It`s totally impossible to spoil ANYBODY with love and affection. We all diserve to get as much as we need.

  5. Some weird things have been happening today, and I`m afraid I`m just working myself up. First, I went potty this morning, and after I was done peeing, I had another small amount of liquid come out. Not sure if it was pee. Then, my c-sect incision from my last baby started hurting really bad. (I had the c-sect 10 mo`s ago, and I`m a little over 32 weeks now) However, the incision feels fine now. Should I go get checked out?
