sonya75 (1562 days ago) With my insurance, I paid a $20 copay for the first prenatal visit. All the rest is covered completely. So for the whole pregnancy, including delivery, all I have to pay is $20.
onewthewaves (1569.8 days ago) It depends on your insurance. I live in Massachusetts and somehow got myself on the socialized insurance Masshealth and I don`t pay anything for any visits.
missyhull (1570.5 days ago) We have a PPO with Blue Cross, We have excellent insurance with my husbands work, we pay no co-pays and have not paid anything out of pocket. I get right into my Dr app, I have never waited more than 20 minutes, Also I have had 6 ultrasound, two 3-D and I am 17 weeks pregnant.
SarahJane (1571 days ago) I had to pay a chunky detuctible (1000 dollars) and then 20 percent of the care afterwards... all told I`m shelling out over 3000 dollars and I have insurance!
ashtinsmommy (1571.1 days ago) Well it depends on what type of insurance you have. With the current insurance I have we do have to pay some of the dr`s bill. The insurance pays for 80 percent of his bill. Other insurances can be really horrible and make you pay 80 percent of the bills. Some insurances pay almost nothing. Just depends on the insurance. If you have a crappy job or your husband has a crappy job then in most likelihood the insurance (if they have it) is going to be horrible.
missyw (1571.4 days ago) Due to the type of insurance I chose through my company, I am paying a lot out of pocket. I had an HSA (Health Savings Account) which I add $150 each month. So, the 2 years of savings I have in that account will be depleted by the end of pregnancy/labor/delivery. Plus, my hubbie is putting in about $1,000 additional. Then, everything else for the year is covered. My plan covers all preventetive things.
mummy-tummy (1571.4 days ago) USA is weird...in NZ we dont need insurance or anything like that...everything is covered except requested ultrasounds which are $117.
aliciah (1571.4 days ago) I pay a $15 copay at every visit and the hospital/delivery is completely covered.
HIBABY (1571.5 days ago) My insurance covers everything... I think Ive spent like $20 on check ups and U/S so far... what kind of insurance do you ladies have that makes you pay so much???
Annie85 (1571.5 days ago) my insurance covers everything
lorilou (1571.5 days ago) Our deductible is $3,000 we are trying to push as many big cost into the new year so we don`t have to pay as much.
mia (1571.5 days ago) Yeah it`s pretty ridiculous...that`s one of the things the US really needs work on!
Brittany23 (1571.5 days ago) Wow that really sucks for you guys! I am very thankful for universal health care (yay canada!) I don`t have to pay for anything, except parking, which I though was outrageous, like, $11/day at the hospital, so we`ll be parking on a nearby side street. Wow... I can`t imagine paying $6000 to my doctor... I don`t even have insurance right now, except on my car, so if I need a prescription or dental work it`s going to cost me, but wow... $6000 I`ve never paid that much for anything in my life
pregosharpe (1571.5 days ago) Well lucky for me, thats one of the benefits to being in the military. My medical/dental is completely paid for.. so anytime I need to go to the doc, hospital, emergency room, get prescriptions, etc its all free for me. I know with just regular insurance at a civilian job I`d have to pay atleast a deductible if not, actually some of the bills.
mia (1571.5 days ago) I do as well. Everyone`s insurance is different and covers differently. I have to pay a deductable and then the insurance covers the rest.
bev2 (1571.5 days ago) I do. I think it depends on what insurance you have. I have to pay $6000 to the dr and I don`t know how much to the hospital yet.
