YES I THINK IT`S FAIR ENOUGH YOUR CHILD WILL HAVE HIS FAMILY`S LAST NAME. SO GIVE YOUR BABY SOMETHING FROM YOUR FAMILY ALSO. THAT`S HOW I SEE IT. IF WE HAVE A BOY MY SON`S MIDDLE NAME IS GOING TO BE MY DADDY`S MIDDLE NAME.

I think it`s something you and your husband really need to agree on it`s not worth a fight.cyb has a point the baby does get your husbands last name, or you could go the two middle names route alot of people do. But it is definately not worth marital strain you don`t need that pregnant.

i think, IMHO, that you carry the baby for 9 months, he gets the daddy`s last name, gets to carry that name on, you have every right to name your baby whatever you want.

Although I think it`s important that you BOTH agree on the name, I think he is being very insensitive to you and he`s being a big old baby! This name MEANS something to you, and THAT should mean something to him!

its not your problem that he doesnt have anyone important enough or that he was close enough to to name the baby after,my first 2 boys have are named after my brother and my 3rd boy is named after my dad,when it really comes down to it no matter how much they try and fuss over names it is never really as important to them as it is to us!!

Oh tell him to quit whining. Yeah your child will have his last name! That`s enough right? See -- we`re using my guy`s mother`s name as a middle name and I don`t find it unfair to mine at all! If we have another child, perhaps we will name it after my mother but it`s whatever you think sounds best with the name and appropriate.

i think you should be able to use what name you want. im using a name from my side of the family with both names we are picking out for either sex. so i doesnt madder what you name your child! and you are using a family name, your husbands last name. so...thats the best name ever i think! anyways...dont let noone choose it for you yall decide and that should be it!

are you going to have more than 1 child? if so, then tell him that the next child will have his side of the family`s name incorporated somehow. and like the girls previously stated, the child is going to carry on your husband`s family name anyway, assuming the child takes the father`s last name. he can`t have it all! plus you carry the child for `9 months` you should have some say!

i am assuming that the baby will have his last name, he should be happy about that because when your child has a family of his own it will be his fathers last name that will be carried on

if we have a boy the middle name is going to be clinton after is brother.. but if we have a girl the middle name is going to be after my sister. its just a middle name.. who cares.
