I`m 35 weeks, so far so good.. a couple of mini stretch mark on my breast only. I`m really surprise because, when I was a teenager I got lots of stretch mark on my thigh and behind my legs, and even later in life on my breast (not much). Iv`e been using elancyl *about 25$ the bottle and use about a third of a bottle per month* since the beginning of my pregnancy..I`m still scare about the last 4 weeks but the obstetricien said he would be surprise if I got any. crossing my fingers.

I am 35 weeks pregnant and have not gotten one stretch mark on me. I`ve used BUrt`s Bees Mama Bee butter since I was 7 weeks pregnant. My mother did get stretch marks. I don`t know if I got lucky or whether the butter helped.

I think all cream may help a little. But it depends on the elasticity of your skin.

The only way you wont get stretch marks is prob if your mother never got them. I tried palmers stretch mark cream and it gave me a bad rash on my stomach. My dermatoligist said to use a lotion called CERAVE. It`s very moisterizing and I also use vitamin E lotion once in awhile. Because it`s a vitamin, I don`t want to use too much of it.

Try unrefined Shea Butter and or lotion ~ I have links on my page to it ~ you have to order, cant be found in a retail store unless they are a specialty store that sells it. I used it with 2 pregnancies and only have marks from the one I didnt use it for ~ (())

i swear by palmer`s cocoa butter!!..they say that stretch marks are hereditary and my mom and sister had them after pregnancy but i didn`t get one single stretch mark on my belly..i used it twice a day and the palmer`s oil at night AND i didn`t put it on my thighs and i got some stretch marks there..

coco butter worked GREAT for me i would put it on like 2 or 3 times a day!! loved it!!

They may look really horrible at first when they`re all red and purple, but they fade and it`s not so bad. I religiously put on cream after the shower (because when your skin is wet it absorbs it better) but I still got some stretch marks on my boobies and bum bum. They`ll fade eventually.... whatever cream you use, just use it often!

there is nothing in this universe that you can do to `prevent` stretch marks if you are predisposed to get them you are going to them you can just minimize them thats all dont caught up in these products that say that they can prevent stretch marks cuz thats simply not the case

I`ve been using Palmer`s Cocoa Butter for Stretch Marks but I`ve also been using St Ives Moisturizing Vitamin E lotion as well. Usually I use the Palmer`s when I get out of the shower, and I use the Vitamin E in the morning. I am 38wks prego and don`t have a stretch mark yet (my sister had them and she was 98lbs before she got prego.. not sure if my mom had them as she`s had so many surgeries its hard to tell), so I`m keeping my fingers crossed.

i agree with leahs,my mum had 5 kids and not one stretch mark (p.s she used nothing)her sister used everything and got stretch marks, also i rubbed oils on my tum my whole first pregnancy and i got covered.it is to do with your skins elasticity,i envy my mum,oh and my grandmother had 6 and no stretch marks either.

It certainly couldn`t hurt to try the different oils/creams. I`ve been tempted to go buy that Bio Oil but it might be too late. If anything, these things might help with the itching! But beware! I got through my entire first pregnancy with out a single stretch mark...until AFTER she was born! Then they showed up! But they faded and now I`m 38 weeks tomorrow and I just got some stretch marks in the last week.

I use cocoa butter because my skin has been extremely dry and flaky. I am almost 6 months and don`t have any stretch marks thus far. But like Leah said, drinking lots of water and gaining weight gradually will help to prevent stretch marks.

naomijane (344.3 days ago)
My doc also said that most people wont know what works until they either get the stretch marks or not. So its definitely better to be SMART and take precautions now. They are hereditary BUT that gene may not have been passed on to you. Being Ignorant isn`t the right way to go.

michelle (344.4 days ago)
with my forst i used baby oil and rubbed it in everyday. I didnt get stretch marks but i dont know if it was the oil or just luck.

leahs (344.4 days ago)
You will get stretch marks whether you use 50 different lotions or not, there are certain things you can do to minimize or lessen them but it has nothing to do with cream. If you drink alot and stay hydrated your skin will have more elastisity,if you gradually gain your weight instead of sudden gains you are less likely to expand quick and stretch your skin.

zenzabar (344.4 days ago)
So you probably got them from your father`s side.

mummy-tummy (344.4 days ago)
I think the oils and butter didnt work for me because i started to late...they faded them a tiny bit though! I dont think they are hereditary my mum didnt get them but me and mi sister both did!

naomijane (344.4 days ago)
Well they are hereditary but there are things you can do to make them smaller or make you less likely to get stretch marks. Just cuz your mom had them dosent mean you should just give up!!!
you can do tonzzz of different things because everyone`s body is different: Try taking a vitamin E capsule every day[so you can keep your skin, fingernails, and hair all healthy from the inside out] also you can try the vitamin E oil, the cocoa butter balm, they have pregnant belly after shower spray, and also there is this product that is a miracle oil called Bio Oil which helps with aging skin, dry skin, pregnant belly skin, tattoos, ect. it even helps reduce already existing stretch marks! try Googling Bio oil its worth it. I just bought another bottle from Walgreens. my doctor also said that drinking plenty of water helps keep your body hydrated which helps[everything] keep your skin healthy! Oh and dont forget eating veggies and fruits since they give you tons of vitamins that help your skin stay beautiful. oh and my doc also said excersizing helps keep the skin elastic.
hope that helps good luck =] oh and dont forget to constantly/daily do these things otherwise theres no point.
p.s. I got a lot of info from my doc and my birth mother who has had twins!

zenzabar (344.4 days ago)
Sorry to say it but stretch marks are hereditary. You cannot prevent them. Don`t waste you money. Just use lotion to stop itching because scratching them will make them worse.
