I am pregnant with my fourth baby and this is the first time we found out! I was surprised with the first three and absolutely loved being surprised. I wouldn`t change it! When I first held my babies I didn`t even think of what the sex was until told. It was a truly magical moment and I loved the babies completely just for being babies. This time I wanted to find out just because I feel that there is so much going on in my life right now that I wanted to be able to prepare. And as for all the yellow/green clothes - I got some but after each baby was born I was given more than enough pink and blue (I have one son and two daughters already and am expecting another daughter). I`d say if you`re not sure about finding out, just do what feels best to you. There are advantages to both being surprised and finding out, just do what is best for you!

I will find out on November 13 what I am having. Becoming pregnant was a surprise. I also want to know if I need to buy girl stuff or if alright with all the boy stuff I have.

I know you probally have heard this a thousand times but it is just personal choice.Theres no right or wrong, its what the couple feels right for them. With my first i found out and because he was a boy with my second i found out as i wanted to be prepared. Alot of people think it takes away the suprise at the end but you are suprised you get to see your baby for the first time. It also makes bonding with your bump nicer i think. But those people who choose to wait i think it would be nice also, sharing the moment its a..... would be special. Im pregnant with my 3rd (only 12 and a 1/2 weeks) and this will be our last. My husband wants to know as we already have everything for boy and girl and the last would be nice for a suprise. I think i wont be able to hold off but im going too. I think it be nice for us both to keep this one a suprise. Good luck with everything.

I wanted to know what I was having because I wanted to be completely ready for what I was having. I wanted the room ready and not have a bunch of yellows and greens. I don`t like yellows and greens. I wanted either pinks or obviouse boy clothes. I am having a boy and I don`t for one second wish I would have left it a surprise! As soon as we picked out a name he was no longer known as `the baby` we refer to him by name. Its so much more personal to me!

i found out the baby`s sex (which it is a boy by the way :D ) because it makes for an easy baby shower for me this is my first baby and i need help in getting some things so knowing the sex helped a lot and i feel more of a connection with my baby now that i know the sex instead of calling the baby `it` or just `baby` i can say he is doin good :D

Well I wanted to find out because I am stationed in Alaksa..interior Alaska at that.. we have VERY LITTLE options when it comes to shopping so most of the stuff we buy or have bought whether it be for the baby or ourselves has to come from online stores. Shipping takes forever to get here.. so by knowing what the sex was before birth it was much easier for me to planning accordingly to shop online and what not. I didnt get to find out for sure I was having a girl until almost 30wks. I don`t really see the connection between the analogy given by the lady about the pet, because alot of people have a name they want to give a pet and have wanted to have a dog name `this` ever since they were a kid. Theres nothing wrong with picking out a name before birth and theres nothing wrong with waiting until birth, but I don`t think anyone`s age is a factor in this.

We arent finding out, but it wasnt my frist choice! my husband and my father actually had to talk me into not finding out, which is making it a little hard to buy things but at the same time i think i am more excited to go through labor so i can hear the doc say `its a ...` so after much debait at first i am happy not knowing..

We did not want to find out. We also were against having a sonogram unless it was medically indicated by our care giver. So, we`re two weeks away from having our baby and we still have not had an ultrasound and don`t know the sex. I couldn`t be happier!

I don`t want to know, and I know that I`m in the minority on this. I really want it to be a surprise. I think it`s more exciting this way. And personally, I hate pink but I love green and orange and yellow. I figure you only get so many surprises in life and this one will be the best. But that`s just me.

I found out with both of my kids.I personally feel more bonded to the baby once I find out what it is.You can actually call the baby he or she or even call them by name if you have chosen. It just feels like you know them a little better. It is also more convenient for shopping.

I definitely want to know so that i can prepare accordingly. I would rather not have a whole slew of green and yellow stuff. I want to be able to paint the baby`s room either pink or blue and pick out bedding and all that other good stuff. It would be neat to be surprised but in reality I would rather be prepared. It would be harder trying to do it after the baby was born and I know I sure wont feel like it!

  1. Is SaraKelly still on here? I know she was a mod but I didn`t see her post in the previous Who Is A Mod poll...
  2. ANGRY!!!! My jenakers account is missing my ENTIRE journal from my high risk pregnancy and my letthisonestick account for my 7 month old is completely gone along with my journal. I AM SICK OVER IT!
  3. I`ve re-thought the moderating of the member-postings. How does this sound? Let`s change it to usage, rather than length of time as a member. Say your first 10 or 20 polls, questions and pictures need to be approved by a Mod or something like that. Someone posting the racist polls and adding the kiddie porn is unlikely to participate as a normal member. Once you are verified as a regular member you`re no longer monitored.
  4. How long did it take you to get pregnant after you got your IUD (Mirena) out?
  5. Twilight valentines for 7 year olds... appropriate or not? DD received a valentine with a very... sultry smoldery Edward on the front and I was just kind of surprised that anyone would buy those for 7 year olds? I know I`m on the conservative side in general on those kinds of things, but this really surprised me!
  6. My daughter is almost 5 months and 3 weeks ago my hair started falling out. I know it`s normal but how long did it last for you?
  7. With all the issues going on with the site maybe we need an updated list on Mods. Obviously Laura is the one to go to but if there is a concern and it needs immediate attention and a Mod is online it may be good to know who is who so you can reach out to them. Mods, can you please post here so we know who you are. (Esp since some profiles names had to be changed because of recent log on issues)
  8. Anyone wanna try http://parentspuzzlepieces.spruz.com/ a free community site I just made? Let me know if you want the password and would want to help add things to it!!
  9. I think with all the posting issues IAP needs to appoint someone to verify all pictures, polls, questions, etc that are posted by new members. Sure, it`ll probably make things slower, but something needs to be done! Many websites have this installed and IAP needs it as well. Members that have been on the site for a certain time can be exempt, but if you are a new member, posts should be monitored. I`m going to copy this suggestoin to Laura and if you agree you should too!! :)
  10. MODS ~ please help me in monitoring the photo pages and other pages. Horrific porn was posted in photos sections and they need to be deleted as soon as they are seen. I reported it to Laura also. TX!!
