they can tell at 18 weeks but it`s better at 21 weeks that is when the sex is fully formed.

Wait until your u/s at 18-20 weeks for a more accurate result. I was told at 12 weeks it was a boy (and yes I saw the dangly thing too) but at 19 weeks I was told it was a girl (:
