tto`s poll Show results | Hide results

Pregnancy-poll poll After you answer my other poll, answer this. How do I tell the staff at work I`m pregnant without hurting her feelings?
(Pregnancy poll by tto, 333 days ago)
Tell them quietly.
Ask my friend what she thinks I should do.
Have fun- baby snacks in lounge.
Other idea?

if she has lost her baby so recently, it would be a bit much to tell her right away, i would wait a few weeks at least

i have a similar problem. but you are pregnant (!) and there is no reason why you should hide it at work. its a celebration and your friend should be happy for you just the same. its not rubbing it in her face.

5 years of struggling to get preggors is pretty aweful both mentally and physically. She could be the sweetest most sincere friend, but she is still going to be upset-not for you but for herself. noone understands unless theyve been through. imagine not being able to have your own baby!? you do need to tell her and the staff though. just remember its not her fault if she is sad and it has nothing to do with you. just tell the staff quietly and tell them not to talk about it in front of her.

I don`t think I could wait until 2nd trimester- since I`ve had a baby already, my body is already making obvious changes. I`ll be in maternity clothes by then! My girlfriend has a beautiful spirit and I really think she`ll feel like anyone else- happy for me but sad for herself.

Also, how pregnant are you? If you`re in your first timester -- I`d just wait. You wouldn`t want to pour salt on her wounds... and it`s generally in your best interest to wait until week 13...

summerisis (333 days ago)
I`d tell the woman in question first. And I`d explain to her how you feel-- it kind of seems as though you feel guilty (maybe that`s just my interpretation). But I`d tell her first and then I`d tell my supervisor. When I worked in an office, word just spread -- there was never some major announcment.

i honestly think she will be okay with it. i would just tell them anyway youd like. weither its passing the word. i dont think she will get upset. and if she does then maybe shes not the friend you thought she was. i mean think bout it. she should be happy for you no madder what kind of problems shes having in her life!
