gene-jeaniesbean (1549.4 days ago) Thanks everyone! Appreciate it!
onewthewaves (1552.7 days ago) I got the flu shot when I first found out I was pregnant, at about 6 weeks. I think my doctor would have chased me down the street with the shot if I didn`t want it because I have horrible asthma, lol
marietta (1553.6 days ago) I asked last week about it, and they said to go ahead and get it. My docs offer it for $30, or the mercury free one for $35. She said in my case, due to higher m/c risk, I should wait till 13 wks.
leahs (1554 days ago) I`m sure most peoples dr`s know they are pregnant and give them the appropriate shot,my dr gave me one a couple weeks ago as well as my spouse, and children, since I am in my 3rd trimester none of us had to pay for it,I felt fine after.
jeanette (1554 days ago) Flu shots and other vaccines are prepaired with mercury. The CDC claims that these levels are safe for pregnant women and childfen, yet have recdently called for them not to be distributed to pregnant women and children. Ask if the shot you`re getting is made with mercury. If they don`t know what you are talking about, then don`t get the shot. The controversy is fairly new, and many people in the medical industry don`t do the research, prefering rather to just do what they are told.
aundrea (1554 days ago) I got my flu shot 2 wks ago because i had the flu for the first time last yr. Anyways I took my 4 yr old daughter to get hars this week and they gave her the live nasel spray, we got a spec sheet for the live spray and it says that type is not for pregnant women.Shot ok and spray is not from what i understand...
gogetemgirl (1554.1 days ago) I`m 33 weeks preggers, and had my flu shot 2 weeks ago. I think it`s fine to have it..no worries.
Best of luck to you Gene!!
lisa-82 (1554.1 days ago) i was told that its ok since im in my 2nd trimester...and my dr didnt say anything about a `special` vaccine.
pregosharpe (1554.4 days ago) The flu shot that they give pregnant women, people over the age of 65, spouses of pregnant woman, and people who have children under 2 in the house is a shot that contains a dead virus. The flu mist which practically everyone else in America gets is composed of a live string virus. I got my flu shot at 38 weeks. I am in the military and we`re required to get flu shots, but even if I wasnt I would get the shot because I want the best for my baby and if this helps me keep from getting sick than my baby has a better chance. I got the shot 2 weeks ago and I am fine. It really is a personal decision though. Congrats and good luck with your pregnancy!
