According to old wives tales it`s a girl, but my baby`s heart beat was 163. The nurse declared it would be a girl but it`s a BOY!!!!

It depends on where the HB is at around 16weeks. My daughter is 161 at since week 17.

Early in my pregnancy my baby`s heartbeat was 167... I thought for sure it was a girl! Then when I went for my 18 week scan it turned out to be a boy!! The heartrate was at 136 at 18 weeks. I guess it`s always faster during the early months.
