Hey what about the name of a FLOWER? ROSE, LILY. I think that its very sweet, you letting her name her baby! Will make them closer! I included my Emily in naming my 2nd daughter & 3rd JoHannah & Madeline.

I agree that your daughter may resent her sister later for giving her that name (if she doesn`t like it). So, let her call the baby whatever she would like and let it be a special nickname for just the two of them. It may help them form a special bond. It`s a precious nickname. Or...let her pick a favorite flower (that was a great idea pregosharpe!). Good Luck! We are letting our son call his new baby brother/sister `Jellybean`! He loves jellybeans and he said the first ultrasound picture looked like a jellybean. So, that has already caught on and we will use it as his/her nickname.

I think you should totally let her have a part in naming her. I like the idea of her picking a flower, and if not `flower` itself i think is cute and unique. I would let my son have a say in naming his brother, but he thinks it should be stinky :)

arggg my idea was already taken. tell her to think of a specific flower or the one she likes best and name her that. there r so many, lily, rose, daisy, etc..

I would name her something else and let her sister call her flower as a nickname. If you call her Flower and she hates it when she grows up she may hold some rensentment towards her sister >: Let your daughter use it as a nickname - and she`ll probably grow out of it anyway!

I agree with Pregosharpe. There are some great names of flowers, Dahlia, Lily. You could make it really fun for her and prepare the list ahead of time so you know exactly what the choices are. :)

I would probably name the baby another name, and let your daughter nick-name her flower. It could be a cute name from sister to sister.

You could always let flower become the Nickname! Just because its not on her birth certificate doesnt mean your daughter cant call her that.

maybe put together a short list of middle names you like and ask her to choose. you could also give her a new realistic baby doll to name flower. so she has a baby named flower AND a part in naming the little sister.

i think you should do it...I kinda disagree that later in life if she hates it it could bring on trouble...i think if anything theyll laugh about sis `making` my middle name flower....

I think thats a great idea letting your daughter have a part in naming the baby. What if you suggested she pick out her favorite `flower` and make that the babys middle name (i.e rose, violet, daisy, etc) I dont know just a thought.
