babytigerrain (288.4 days ago)This is a really hard topic to talk about... Alot of people have diffrent fews. I too, (Having a SON) soon will have to face this. I`m pretty sure I`ll have it done though cause my hubby`s dad has alot of problems with his & his diabetes.
I`m afraid though, cause I don`t want to hurt him! ):
bigtummiedbeyotch (290.5 days ago)My first son I didnt have circumsized because I dont like the proceedure and his dad wasnt... But I am definately having this one circumsized because I`ve been reassured they wont remember a thing and that its the best for them medically...
olliesmummy (297 days ago)I have been reading with interest your poll on the matter of circumcision. I am a doctor and I live and work in the UK, and I am currently expecting my second son. I was so surprised to find out that circumcision is so popular in the
USA. In the UK, ritual circumcision is generally viewed as being barbaric. Nature intended that boys should have a foreskin-it has a protective and pleasurable function! It is actually very uncommon for a mans foreskin to cause him problems, and if it ever should, circumcision can be performed at that time (strong analgesia can be easily prescribed to older boys and adults!). Circumcising babies is by no means without risk-bleeding, infection and scarring to name a few).
jensay (297 days ago)ive done the research and both my sons are not. All i ask people is to conduct research. and from multiple websites or books before making a decision. what ever u think is best for your baby boy is best. but how i feel is God put it there for a reason! thats my opinion.
MommaGoat (297.8 days ago)I had my three boys circumsized and it really didn`t seem to bother them for more than like 5 minutes afterwards. If this one is a boy (don`t know, we decided to let it be a surprise this time.) I will do the same. Mostly because Daddy and brothers are.
Niamh-Jo (298.7 days ago)Why would anyone do that to a boy unless there was some medical reason he HAD to get it done for!?!?!
mitzumama (300 days ago)Circumcision is a strange practice. Why, after proving that there is no benefit to doing so, would a person chose to put their newborn baby through something like that, I`ll never know. A circumcised penis is not cleaner, safer or more enjoyable in your son`s adult sex life. When my son came into the world, despite his father`s longing to have identical penises, I refused to have my baby taken down the hall to be cut with a scalpel, no pain medication, for NO GOOD REASON! Every year people in America choose to do this less and less. The hospital will most likely have a video you can watch before you make your final decision. If I haven`t swayed you toward avoiding circumcision... the video will.
Plus: Think about this, in foreign countries when this kind of mutilation is performed on baby girls...we call it inhumane and spend enormous amounts of effort and money to try to put a stop to it. It really is no different choosing to have your son`s tiny penis changed from its natural state to something we are more used to seeing.
Good luck with your choice. I know that in this culture it seems like a difficult choice. Just remember that by the time your son is 15 and in the shower room at school, most his buddies will be uncircumcised too. Circumcision is no longer the popular choice.
noel (300.6 days ago)OK, this has been the only disagreement that my hubby and I have had since I got pregnant. I don`t see any reason to circumcise, but my hubby feels that he will not fit it if he doesn`t have it done. I finally told him that as long as he researches it, and makes an `informed` decision, that I will let him make the final call. I think that it is ridiculous to have it done just because `everybody else is doing it`, because they are NOT!

buzzingb (301.2 days ago)Im English, the fathers American, e wants him to have it done and here in the uk its not normal to get it done. I think i`ll get him done though as he`s gunna be growing up in the US... poor little thing, i think its aweful we would put our new babies through it though!
KatSue (301.8 days ago)I did a ton a research on it, and ultimately decided not to have my son circumcised. I haven`t had a sigle problem- no infections or anything. If you look at the history behind why America started circumcising in the first place you would be shocked. Do some research- and don`t do it from webmd- they will praise it. You have to find other opinions and sources. After all the research I did my hubby and I watched a proceedure- it made me sick to my stomach. They usually don`t use anestesia regalrdless of what they say- and then some dumb nurse will tell you that they won`t feel a thing- but they strap the babies to a table and as soon as they start to cut the baby starts to wince and tried to move but they are strapped down, and they start screaming- it`s aweful. Not trying to scare you, just telling you what I know. In the US it`s about a 50 50 split of intack versus circumcised- so it`s not as uncommon as some think. Good luck!
nicolefeb08 (302.5 days ago)Imagine being 24 and having it done like my hubby! lol
echo (302.6 days ago)if i have a son...which i dont know if i am havin a boy or not...i am defentally gettin this done. why because my brother didnt have his done after birth and it got so bad to where he had to get it done at the age of 2!
