Christmas really isn`t about what or how much someone gets. For my daughters first Christmas we just moved out on our own and bought her mainly clothes and the few toys she did get were either cheap or hand-me-downs... So don`t feel bad. Christmas is just about Family & not gifts...

what we do is santa brings 1 or 2 gifts and we get our kids mabey 4 or 5 presants and then stocking stuffers from the dollar tree, that way if we have a year when we don`t have alot of money the kids don`t just assume santa will bring them the $400.00 game system they want. my daughter is 3 months old and I got her 4 things.

My daughter is 3 and all she wants is a dora mermaid doll. I usually go way out on bdays and this year i didnt even throw one for my son. I dont think it really matters too much at a young age.

I agree with Meg and although I don`t have children yet, my hubby and I are going to focus on `experiences` and not `things.` We already do not buy gifts for each other -- opting for weekends away instead. I think it`s much better to provide a memory rather than a plastic consumer item. And if you think that your (older) children will feel `left out` or whatever, think again -- most other children only wish that their parents took them somewhere cool, and spent quality time with them and the extended family. At least that was my experience with children aged 3- to 8-years old. These kids never felt inadequate because of their lack of a holiday `take`

oh yeah and someting I was bad on was telling myself kids needed lots of toys for christmas to be happy, 1) christmas really isnt about toys, the way I want to look at it from now on is...if they learn to expect a lot as children its only gonna get worse as teens, id rather have my kids expect a few nice things rather than the world, 2) I`D like my kids to remember christmas as being a happy time with good food and a happy family rather than a spend for all.

I wouldnt feel bad....last year I went nuts buying way to much for more money than I should have....I think I was trying to keep up with what `all the other moms were doing` but in the end...my sons played with about half of it and some of that ended up with pieces everywhere....It was a complete waste of money and they grow out of some toys so fast...this year I feel really good about what I got each kid and I think I may still be under 200$ combined for both with just a few little things to purchase yet ...like stocking stuffers and such. I figured on $400 originally but having a thought out plan and sticking to it, I feel good about where I am, both kids are getting good toys and the rest can go in a bank account or to me! I am going to pull out toys Ive stored from my older son to give to my younger as well, lol....another thing im doing (kinda stupid) is buying a whole bunch of batteries for all the toys that ran out this year and put them all around the tree...not wrapped but just like an extra, now that ive rambled, im not even sure how old your son logan is but chances are since this is his first hes not gonna know and hes probably going to get so amused by one toy hell never know anything was `wrong`.
