Im 29 wks with twins and dilated 1.5-2 and am 25percent effaced. I spent last 2 nights in the hospital getting meds to stop contractions. Im at home on bed rest now. My fetal fibronectin was negative though so doc still thinks it will be a few weeks. Stay off your feet!!!

Go tot he mayoclinic website...they have excellent info on what you are going through. Good luck...some women dilate 1-2 cm weeks before they give birth but it`s a good thing to have it all checked out. 31 weeks seems too soon, but if you know this about the effacement and the dilation, sounds like your doctor is aware as well.

my friend was in same situation but with contractions and was put on bedrest. good luck!!!!!
