I think it depends & is up to you... I left mine in with my frist the WHOLE time w/o any problems. This time I took mine out like alittle over 1/2 through cause I am bigger this time & was afraid of it ripping out.

thanks guys! i think im going to take it out, cus running around carrying a baby i dont know if i wanna get it ripped out again [[its ripped out 3 times]], so no matter what its gunna look ugly :P

I had a plastic one the entire pregnancy with my son and plan to do it again. My hole was fine afterwards and it never hurt. The plastic ones just aren`t pretty. I don`t know what would happen to the hole if you leave the metal one is though....

I am 25 weeks and still have mine in. I bought one of the long plastic ones. It is alot more comfortable and it isn`t stretching my holes.

I`m 33 weeks with it still in. My Doc does not like it so I take it out for my appointments only.

Hey! I haven`t talked to you in a while...I took mine out as soon as it got uncomfortable. It`s different for everybody. Some doctors say you can leave it in until you go into labor (with the special plastic bendy ones). I don`t know if you still have the mean doctor, but I would ask them. Hope everything is going well!

They make special ones you can leave in, but I hear they make the ring hole painful and loose afterwards.

i took mine out at 20wks...exactly half way thru....
