-Ady-and-Maylies-Momma`s Baby-poll

Ok, for baby book sake. What would you guys consider first time crawling? Adalyn just got all the way across the floor. She does the army crawl where she gets onto her elbows and knees (she can get onto her hands and knees too) but pulls herself forward with her wlbows but also uses her knees to move forward...I know that they start out not too good at it, so do you guys think that this is the start crawling? Guess it`s time to babyproof the house!!!

Yep, put it in the baby book...and start the babyproofing!
Don't put it in the book yet, but remember the date so if she keeps getting better you can jot it in there!

To me, any mobility aside from rolling is crawling. I`ve had cousins that only crawled backwards!

I`d say its her way of crawling, every baby does it different. My 2nd son never did the `real` crawl, he went from the `army crawl` to walking....my friends baby looks like she`s about to stand up with her legs all big & straight & hands on the floor (kinda like if you were standing up & bent over) & scoots around that way...on tippy toes too, it`s very cute, but its just her way...I don`t think she is going to do the `real` crawl either...every baby is different....

i think it is. i think they call it creeping. my boy was 5 months when he was on the hands but going backwards. they learn fast though once they get the hang of what they are doing. so yea baby proof cuz when she gets up doing things and nothing is done yet it would be hard to run after her you would be doing it all day.

I would say if shes up on her knees while doing this its crawling or the beginning of...sounds a lil like scooting but crawling is def aroud the corner.

i believe the term for this is `scooting` it is the first stage in crawling
