I am kind of doing both. My family is throwing me a shower before the baby comes for the necessities, but we`re having a `meet the baby` party after he or she gets here with my friends.

Def before ~ if you have the shower after you will not have many of the items you need when he/she is born. Will waist money buying things you may get as a gift :)

I had my shower yesterday and I am due at the end of February...I am really glad we had it before because now we have pretty much everything we need and what we don`t have I can run out and get. I feel much more prepared and organized now.

I vote BEFORE. Its amazing how much stuff you need for the baby...stuff you don`t even think about. We had two showers, got a load of stuff, and still needed more. It took us a very long time to organize all of his stuff, to wash all of the clothes, and get the rest of the things we need. I feel all set now, its nice not having to stress...

it depends. i would thing it seems more logical to have the baby shower before so you have the stuff you need when the baby comes, but some people think its bad luck to have the shower first just in case something happens to the baby. I personally am having my shower 2 months before im due. I don`t know anyone that had their shower after but if thats what you want to do, make sure you buy the neccecities that you will need like the carseat, bottles, diapers, formula(if needed), clothes, blankets. good luck!!!!!
