mommychantz (264.6 days ago)It makes sense to get alot of pre washing out of the way before the baby comes because you`ll be too busy washing the things that he/she will be messing up.Obviously don`t go washing your 6-9 months clothes, because that is still quite a ways, but get all the new born and 0-3 months stuff washed and ready, it`s just easier, also another tip I have, cutting the tags off at the back in the inside (like the size and sometimes wash instructions) is a good idea, some of those materials can bother the baby`s back and cause rashes. Just imagine how they can bother your neck, imagine the poor baby being irriatated by it and not being able to do anything. This depends on the material and size i guess, but when they are young it may be a good idea!
butterblocksmom (264.6 days ago)5 loads yesterday of blankets, bibs and everything else from 0-3 months! All the new stuff I bought I washed inside out (due to chemicals and what not) and stuff that my SIL gave me I washed normally because it has been sitting in a box for almost a year. I used regular detergent, washed in warm, rinsed in cold, and hung to dry (My laundry area is FILLED with baby hats, sleepers, blankets, socks, onesies, etc!!!). baby stuff can shrink like mad so do not throw it in the drier using heat!!!!
