christy`s poll Show results | Hide results

Pregnancy-poll poll Ok, I`m 18 weeks 2 days and I went to the doctor yesterday. She said everything looked good but that I was measuring big? I asked her how big and she said a couple weeks big? She said it was good to be big rather than small. She was measuring was the height of my uterus not around my belly and she said the top of it was exactly at my belly button. I don`t know where it is supposed to be at this time. Does anyone have this information or have had a similiar experience and if so what was your turn out? Big baby or earlier delievery or nothing? Please comment...

I`ve measured small and never made it to a due date and they were all a good size (7 lbs 1 ounce, 6 lbs 9 ounces, and 7 lbs 2oz), the doctor always told me that it is more important to have consistent growth. Not everyone is the same size obviously or carries in the same way, so measurements can vary. Due dates are such an approximation anyway - not everyone develops at the same rate.

I`m 36/37 weeks and I`m always measuring a week ahead. My baby is big but there`s nothing wrong with that.

they also told me that my uterus was larger than average at my 7 week check up. they said its normal and that all woman have different size uteruses. they told me that its better to be bigger than smaller too!!!!!

when i was 19 weeks, my uterus was about 1/2 inch above my belly button so i was probably equal to you at 18 weeks.

At 16 weeks i was measuring 18 weeks and my ob said its normal and the uterus usually slows down about 20 weeks, so when i went for my appoinment at 22 weeks it was normal.

elmera (256.6 days ago)
i always measured 2-4 weeks ahead with all 5 of my babies and all where within normal weight and born at term

Heres a link to tell you where your uterus should be.. you can sign up for weekly updates... http://www.babycentre.co.uk/stages/0119/ 19 weeks Your uterus has grown well into your abdomen - the top of it probably reaches your belly button. From now on it will grow at about a centimetre per week.

There is a picture/diagram on week 34...although it looks nothing like a pregnant woman`s body LOL! My babe was always measuring large on all my ultrasounds, which I believe is more precise than simply measuiong the fundal, however the docs refuse to move me up...they look at DH and I and say we are just having a long baby.

my fundal height is 4 inches above my belly button, which is about a month ahead, but the baby is the week it should. some women just grow differently. some grow up then out.

  5. i found a lump on Grace`s thigh a couple days ago, and it didnt bother her then for me to feel around for it but today when i felt for it she didn`t like me to touch it. i know that sometimes with shots a baby can get a lump where the shot was done but she hasn`t had shots since she was six months. i know that it wasn`t there before because i rub her down with lotion almost everyday. i am going to the ergent care clinic tomorrow because i am concerned but i am scared that i am thinking all this horrible stuff for no reason. should i be worried or could it just be from the shots???

  6. *Strech Marks* - Today i posted this photo, and struggled doing it. I have been crying all day about my tummy, and it could be hormones but i dont feel attractive anymore.
