my-lil-miracle`s poll Show results | Hide results

Name-poll poll I have had a lot of problems with my babies` dad... I filed for Welfare a month ago when I decided I can`t depend on him for financial help... Now things are better between us but I KNOW I still need to be stable... WHAT I NEED TO KNOW IS HOW TO TELL SAM, AND WHEN TO TELL HIM ABOUT THE WELFARE, BECAUSE WITH A.F.D.C. WHEN THE FATHER NEEDS TO PAY `BACK-PAY` FOR THE TIME THAT WELFARE PAID BEFORE THE BABY WAS BORN, IN ADDITION TO THE PATERNITY TEST, AND MONTHLY CHILD SUPPORT.... i FEEL REALLY BAD, BUT i KNOW THAT I NEED THIS FOR STABILITY REASONS FOR MY LITTLE BABY AND ME.... i JUST FEEL BAD, AND DONT KNOW WHEN TO TELL HIM OR HOW. help

I agree with all who commented on thus far. You did what you felt was right in the interest of your unborn child.

If you are not living with him it is not a big deal. You need to provide for yourself and your baby. At this point he is on a need to know basis. And what you do with your life is not something he needs to know. When the baby is born what happens with your son is his business and you should inform him of decisions that impact your child. How could he be upset if you are providing for the needs of your son.

I think that I`m confused. If I understand correctly, you`ve applied for government assistance because you cannot depend on your `Sam` to provide. If that`s correct, I don`t see a need for you to tell him anything about your plans for supporting your child because 1) if he DOES provide then you won`t need the government assistance and 2) if he does NOT provide then you will need the assistance and he`ll be responsible to the government. Either way, I don`t think that you should be concerned with him or his feelings -- stability and your baby are your priorities right now. Hasn`t this man already threatened to take the child from you and leave the country? You telling him your intentions merely gives him a means of planning his escape route better.
