Everybody is different. We are expecting our 4th baby and I would definately expect to need 4-6 weeks of recovery. If you start exercising and doing too much before that recovery period is done, you`ll just start bleeding more which is not fun. Just take it easy and you`ll heal up a little sooner.

With my first I was done at 2 weeks. The average they say is 6 weeks.

My first 2 babies, I was good to go at 2 wks. My 3rd was almost 7 wks. I was over doing it being I had 2 other kids to take care of. I am sure it will be the same with this one.

i`d say the bleeding CAN last for around 6 weeks or so but ive found its heavier but for a shorter time with each baby i have. i agree with jennsever though... doing too much will make you bleed more. in the 1st week or so i found an increase of blood at every breastfeed but after that i never bled again in fact i didnt have a period the whole time i was breastfeeding. one thing though, that doesnt mean you cant get pregnant as when my youngest was 9 months old i found out i was expecting again even without having periods LOL

just a few weeks - sore tush and perineum..the bleeding might last about 2 wks. and if you exert yourself your bleeding with flare back up. so literally take it easy
