I like the name all together, but it is weird to name your child after someone relatively close to you, but go for it. I would if I really liked the name. In fact, a cousin of mine is named Jill, but that is a name we are considering.

I like the name. It doesn`t have to be that you are naming your child after your brother...it`s just a name that you and your husband like and agree on! Go for it.

I wouldn`t mind using the name James and it happens to be an uncles name but I wouldn`t be naming the kid after him. And I that our family will probably be smart enough to know that... but will still joke about it. If we go with James, I`ll have to learn to smile and keep my mouth shut. So, no I don`t think it`s weird but it might become annoying.

We used my parent`s middle names as our children`s middle names and it just so happened Joseph is also my father in law`s first name. I know people named after parents and grandparents just never an aunt or uncle. Luckily we have 7 months to figure it out. Thank you for all your helpful input.

i agree with robin your not naming him after your half brother they will just have the same name and i think its a lovely name. congrats x

Not weird at all ~ and besides you arent naming him after your half bro, you are naming him after the giant, they will just have the same name :)

It`s not weird. When I have a boy, his middle name will be Michael.. and that`s my brother`s first name. My husband`s late father`s name is Michael though, so that`s why we`re using it.
