I have been very happy with my midwife. Our last birth was amazing,m so we are using the same midwife again. Midwives are often very comforting, knowledgeable, experienced, careful, flexible, honest, and gentle. You definatly get more personalized care and if you are nervous about complications, many midwives work through hospitals not just birthing centers and at homes. Our midwife is a midwife nurse practitioner, she has a practice at the hospital and we will delivery in the maternity ward, just like last time. I feel really good about her and she helped me to feel really good about me too.

I love my midwife- I love the trust she has in my body and in every woman`s body. Many midwives almost have a 6th sense- they just know what you need durinf pregnancy, labor, or even postpartum. I have worked with OBs and it`s just not the experience I prefer- for others it works great.

I had a OB for my first and a midwife for this pregnancy and I love my midwife. I have more faith and trust in her. As for complications they only take low risk pregnacies, also if there are complications during labor it take 30 mins to prep a room for a c-section.

midwives do an amazing job, in the UK you are always assigned to a midwife (community based) who will care for you the whole way through your pregnancy you will only see a doc if you have complications, the midwife will also visit you after you have given birth for a few weeks to weigh baby care for you and answer any questions you have. I had my first baby in a hospital (induced etc) and second time around i wanted to have baby in a midwife led birth centre, independant from main hospital run by midwives for natural birth using the pool etc or gas and air, but i had complications in the last few weeks of my pregnancy and had to have a hospital delivery, which i was upset about. by still have midwife look after me in hospital doctor s only come if there is a problem.

I love love love my midwife. I am still delivering in a hospital, so there`s no risk of anything going wrong. If there`s an emergency, the OB on call takes over. My midwife also comes to my home 6 times after the birth to check on us - what doctor will do that? My appointments are an hour long - again, what doctor has that kind of time?

truthfully a midwife specializes in pregnancys. Thats what they went to school for. Gynocologists have more of a wide range of things that they are knowledgable about. Truthfully, i trust a midwife over a doctor.
