emy (207.6 days ago)I was induced 4 days early...Jamison was 9lb 7 oz and 22 inches long. I was induced with pitocin and had him 12 hours later. (I had cervadil the night before) I got an epidural and experienced very little pain. The nurses could not believe I was in labor because I was cracking jokes... I pushed for only 5 minutes and needed only ONE stitch on my Labia. Pregnancy was way more tough than my labor...
SmileyMom (209.4 days ago)2 large babies (both almost 9 lbs each), one induced, the other not, but both were completely drug free, no epidural, no episiotomy.
My best advice: accept the fact that it will hurt, but that it`s okay.
It won`t last long. Honestly I was more scared of the episiotomies, so I didn`t get them. Whether you get a epidural or pain meds, or not, as soon as you accept the fact that there will be pain, you can relax and not be so anxious. I`m not trying to scare you, but many women go into it either hoping for a painless experience or being in denial about it hurting, then they get shocked when a good contraction hits.
All-natural isn`t for everyone as we all have different tolerance for pain, but in my experience, accepting the pain ahead of time made it seem like a breeze when it finally happened.
Good luck!
oxxemmaxxo (212.7 days ago)my labour was WAY better than i thought it was, i would do it again :)
babyalo (213.6 days ago)My labor was way better than I thought it was going to be. Granted I had an epidural, but still it was not nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. I remember thinking when I was in my last month that I didn`t want to go thru with it. But trust me time flys when your in delivery!! And once you hold your baby for the first time.... it`s like `what pain?` Good Luck!
Jadens*MaMa (213.6 days ago)i was so scared when i started to get closer to my due date and when labor started i got really scared just cuz i didnt know what to expect. the contrations didnt that bad and when i got my epidural it was so much better. i didnt feel a thing, even when i pushing him out and he was 8lbs and 15 oz. so it was cool. easy with an epidural
denee85 (213.7 days ago)Having a baby DOES hurt, but it`s something that your body is designed to do..I`ve been through once and I`m due for baby #2 in a couple of months..if it was not worth it I wouldn`t be doing it again!
You`ll do fine-just read about labor and delivery so you understand what is happening and if you can, take a child birth class.
Also, from my experience the nurses in the maternity ward are VERY supportive and will be there for you.
As soon as you`re holding that baby, all the pain and stuff just fades away:)
summerisis (213.7 days ago)I recommend watching `The Business of Being Born` so you can see women giving birth at home and unmedicated -- they weren`t screaming their heads off.
