Pregnancy-poll poll Help! I`m 24 wks pregnant and have a three year old son. Before my son was born, we lost two- one at eight or nine wks and one at twenty three. Because of these losses, my husband doens`t want to tell our three yr old in case we lose this one too. I think we are running out of time for my son to be prepared. What do you think? Leave a comment please.

You definitely have time! I would wait just a little while longer. Even at three, it`s confusing and they have to wait long enough. Good luck!! =)

I am also about 24 weeks and have a toddler. This must be really tricky for you two! I would suggest telling your son about the pregnancy but just trying to keep it down to a dull roar. As I`m sure you know, there is nothing that your son probably doesn`t know already from listening to the two of you. They know everything! If he didn`t overhear it I`m sure he has picked up on just the subtle nuances. Perhaps you could just tell him little bits for now and when you are closer to your due date you can tell him more. If something should happen, I`m sure you can find a simple way of telling him in a way he will understand. Good luck! I`m sure everything will be just fine for you:)

You might hold off just a little bit longer since your husband is not comfortable with it yet and you want to respect him! However your son is going to need to know at some point since you don`t just want to dissapear to the hospital for a couple of days and then show up at home again with a baby! It is a bonding for them to know that baby grows in mommys tummy! A babys chance of survival is SO much greater once you have reached 28 wks that your husband might be okay with telling your son then! I wouldn`t wait any longer than that myself though to tell my kids and that still gives them 3 months approx to get use to and excited about the idea of baby and maybe even help out with getting ready for baby!! Best of Wishes and hoping the best for you!
