browniemama (295.3 days ago)I had an emergency csec with my first after being in labor for 13 hours. My second baby was a scheduled csec & everything went beautifully. I had very little pain & bounced back a lot quicker with the second baby. I think it had a lot to do with the EASE of everything. I am pregnant with my third now & am looking forward to scheduling a csec again. My doctor pretty much let me pick the date to have my 2nd child. I don`t remember sleeping at all the night before because I KNEW that I would be having my baby the next day! Super exciting! Although I am still curious about a vaginal birth, I am perfectly happy with the idea of having another csec.
alex76 (295.5 days ago)Hiya, I am same as you, emergency 1st time and scheduled for a section. My hospital actually encourages VBAC but as I have a pre-existing medical condition they would not allow my hubby in the room last time as emergency. If I schedule the section though its fine and he aint missing this one. I am going in about 10 days before my DD(woohoo) at 8am and am scheduled to be in first. They said I`ll get my IV & catheter in and baby will be out within 10 minutes, 30 to stich me up. My friend said the scheduled section was great because they let you get up and get home quicker. She also thought it wasnt as sore second time around. I decided to do it as I`m at high risk of needing another section anyway and cant handle the thought of trying VBAC and needing a section anyway.
SmileyMom (297 days ago)Is there any chance you could pick another hospital with your doctor? Or choose a womens` birthing center? Unless of course you are okay with a planned c-section. I wouldn`t be, but your situation is different than mine. Good luck!
elocmo (297.1 days ago)I was supposed to have one also. I asked my doctor exactly what would happen. She said I would go in, they would give me my iv, a spinal, insert the catheter, then break the water. After that, the c section happens the same way as your first. I was so nervous about the planned c section, I would rather not know when it`s going to happen, and luckily I went a week earlier!!
phatmommy82 (297.2 days ago)My sister in law just did a VBAC after 2 c-sections in a row! They wanted to make her get another and she said no! She just went into the hospital when she was in labor and refused to sign the paperwork that they had to have to let them do a c-section and they couldn`t deny her medical care and she had a very successful labor and delivery Naturally!
They may not want to give you the choice, but ultimately it is your body and your baby and you do have a choice!
I am not saying that this is what you should do, Just wanted to let you know that you DO have options. You have to decide for yourself what route you want to take! Good Luck!
magnolia76 (297.2 days ago)My 1st c-section was also an emergency situation. I had my 2nd c-section in Jan it was planned, my doctor picked the date. They told me not to eat after midnight, and to be at the hospital at 5am and that my c-section would about around 730am. I got there at 5am they asked me a bunch of question, monitored the baby, did vital signs and all. I signed some papers, they put the IV in, got the O.R. ready for me. After getting into the O.R. around 750am they hooked me up to blood pressure machine, did the spinal block, put oxygen on, put catheter in, alittle after 8am started the c-section, baby was born at 812am, and they finished up with me around 845. The 2nd c-section was smoother for me, I recovered faster, I was more aware of what was going on, wasn`t in shock like I was the 1st time. Knowing the date of the c-section did make me a little anxious the night before and I didn`t sleep, but knowing made it easier for me to plan for and I think I was more mentally ready for what was about to happen.
