It is true. I went and had a pedicure 12 days before my due date, the massuese (sp?) asked how close I was because if youre not far enough along they dont massage as `hard` in certain spots. I was hoping it would jump start my labor, but it just gave me some contractions that night. :) I ended up being 5days overdue

my cousin was 18 weeks when she get hers and she lost her baby, i don`t know if had relation with the massage but i asked my doctor and he said that it could be a possibitity

My best friend works in a spa and I go there to get massages. It is called reflexology, supposeably parts of the feet are linked to other parts of the body.

Yes...you can get the same effect from accupressure. There is also a spot between your thumb and pointer finger that is supposed to do the same thing. I went in to get a prenatal massage and was 39 weeks and they rubbed those places and I didn`t go into labor for another week and a half! With no relation to the massage. I guess it works for some and not for others!

I don`t know how much truth there is to it, but I have heard that massaging the foot in a certain way can stimulate labor.
