Deletemonica9 (294.3 days ago)between 4-6 months. I am studying to become a dietitian and Ive learned you are supposed to wait until baby is able to turn their head from left to right (in order to refuse it) and able to hold a spoon and put it on the back side of his/her mouth. If you give them solids too early, they won`t digest well and can cause major GI tract issues. good luck!

Deletephatmommy82 (294.8 days ago) I am in Washington and am pregnant with my third baby!
My doc told me to start them on single grain rice and single grain oatmeal at four months and then you can ad the others from there.
Add veggies at 5 months and Fruit at 6 months!
Your baby is more likely to like veggies if you add them to their diet before fruit, because fruit is so sweet!
After adding a new food always wait 4 days or more before adding another new food, that way if they have an allergy, it is easy to know exactly what they are allergic to!
I have followed this method with the two that I have and will with the one that is on the way! I have had no problems at all, in fact I know that my kids would not have waited til 6 months to start on baby food. They have fast motabolisms like I do and although they were able to get full from a breastfeeding, their bodys digested it really fast! They needed more substance and once I gave it to them they slept so much better through the nights cuz they were not always waking up hungry every single hour!
On this type of thing you just gotta feel things out and do what you feel is right for your baby! You know them and how their body works better than anyone! I wish you and your little one the best! GOOD LUCK!
