I slept my daughter with me for a few weeks and then in the crib in my room and everything was fine. With this baby I plan to do the same. Hopefully everything works out.

I will want to have them in a bassinet in our room, however my husband wants them in the crib in the baby`s room. Let`s just see who wins this fight. :) I know I`ll be going across the hall multiple times a night to check on them (nervous first mom) so the bassinet in the room makes the most sense to me. I want to transition them to their crib after the first few months. My husband is concerned that it will be a hard transition so he wants to start in the crib right away. I`m pretty darn persistent and know I will win this one! :)

I couldn`t recommend co-sleeping enough! I can`t imagine having to get up and walk down the hall to a wailing baby. It worked great for us, my husband did sleep in the other room for the first 11 weeks however. Our daughter is now 2 1/2 and she has been happily falling to sleep in her own bed for over six months now. Good luck!

We co slept with all kids ~ we used the Close and Secure Sleeper by Frist years with Hunter this time ~ best thing ever!!!! Check it out, if you plan to co sleep it is the way to go and so much safer ~ and I think SO much easier then a bassinet :)

ive co slept with all my babies (im having number 6) till they are around 6 months old. neither me or my hubby are heavy sleepers/drinkers or smokers and i have never had problems in the transition to their own cot/crib/room etc. it was much easier for night feeds and assured that we got some sleep.

I had planned to have my 4 week old son sleep in his crib and then I would sleep in the bed that is in his room. It didn`t work out that way. He wouldn`t sleep in his crib and I wasn`t getting sleep so he sleeps in the bed with me now. We both sleep great! Oh yeah, I used to be very against sleeping in a bed with your baby, so never say never!

my son will be in a bassinet in our room till he is about 6 months then he will move into his crib in his room, i like having my kids close to me when they are so little cause i am one of those paranoid mommies about sids!

I am going 2 b a single mother, so either in the bed with me cause he won`t be `rooting` anyone out plus it is security (bless his heart, his road of life will b rough wnough). It is also my 1st child...so I`m going to create a sense of safety..he`ll have a crib in my room 2...it`s up to you ultimately..:) good luck

I have our son in a bassinet in our room. I want him near me, but not in the same bed as me. I want him to be use to sleeping in his own space, so when I do move him to his room, it won`t be such a hard transition. I do like having him close tho, for now. I check on him pretty often, and I would rather just raise up and look at him, then have to walk across the house to check on him.

1. I agree with MJamison, I started out right off with her in her bed in her room...she loves her bed and room and always has. 2. my hubby goes to work at 2:30am and we just couldn`t have a baby in our room.

MJamison (294 days ago)
Personally he will be in his room in his crib! I believe in starting that young so they arent six trying to still sleep with you!

  1. My husband and I were neighbors when we first met, he was afraid to ask me out cause I had a boyfriend, so to show that he liked me, he would shovel my walk(there is tons of snow here) each morning before I woke up. My question is: How did you and your husband/boyfriend meet?
