All advise I have read so far is to wash everything before the baby gets here, especially if it will be right on your baby`s skin. Also, I would get detergent that doesn`t have dyes and perfumes in it. They have specific ones in stores for babies.

thanks for bringing it up. i never really put much thought in to it but i wash stuff before i wear it so i should for the baby. i don`t think i`ll wash every thing right away because if it`s all girl stuff and it comes out a boy i would want to return stuff.

Yes i am washing them all in the next few weeks. I am also taking all of the stuff off of the bassinet and swing and cleaning them also.

I washed everything before my son was born. I find that new clothes have a weird smell and can be itchy.
