threeangelsofmine (1421.3 days ago) i know exactly what you are talking about. there is a big difference between unique and wierd like my sister just found out she is having a little girl and she is naming the poor thing sista yes SISTA!! i just can imagine what she is going to go through in school
JennSever (1421.3 days ago) my children have unique names NOT weird ones..Jensen (girl) Sawyer and Grayden (boys) if the names are good enough to be last names why not for firsts? i am not for the incredibly out there though!
professorpreggers (1421.5 days ago) Name choices, like everything else, are a matter of personal taste. What you might be characterizing as weird might also be rephrased as simply not your taste. Yes, I think sometimes parents aren`t thinking about their child`s future when they consider certain monikers, and I think parents have a certain responsibility to ensure that their children can avoid whatever teasing possible while also considering what their child`s resume is going to look like some day (studies have proved that unusual names or unusual spellings so often hinder an applicant`s potential for hiring), but at the end of the day, naming your child always boils down to taste and nothing more--it`s no surprise that we don`t all agree on what is an appropriate name-- just like we wouldn’t all have the same taste in food, clothes, movies, or men
mdbabyno1 (1421.5 days ago) I love unique names! I want my kids name to be different than the other kids in school. Not weird, but different from the traditional names. I wouldn`t want him to be called John D because there is a John M and John A in the same class.
Ady,May,And1OnTheWay (1421.5 days ago) I like unique names. Not like the celebrity names...do those people not think before they write on the birth certificate???
Mommy-2-B (1421.6 days ago) I am naming my baby Sophia Lily. That`s pretty normal. For a boy I had picked out Brody Ryan. I guess I like last names as first names for boys. I liked Brody, Landon, Lincoln, Jackson, etc. Not weird names...just old fashioned last names :0) I know though...I think it is really lame when they rhyme or you have no idea how to say them, or when everyone names their daughter the same thing. Although, I should bite my tongue, because Sophia is high up there on the names list...but it isn`t popular where I live.
