Kind of off target but related to change in hormones ~ I know hair loss is normal after pregnancy, had it with my other two but this time around my hair is a mess, it is still falling out or breaking really bad after 5 months and it is SO dry and no matter how much conditioner or mouse I use it is all static. I cant stand it anymore. I opted to start taking prenatals again to see if the vits help some but I also need to buy shampoo and conditioner that will help best. Although I am a big fan of the salon brands I cant afford them right now so want to buy the best store products I can get or stay under $4-$5 a bottle. So for all the stylists here what products do you think will help best for dry, brittle hair? I bought pantex cause one stylist said it is the best from regular stores. Nothing will help unless it is the $10 salon brands.

tto (1419.1 days ago) I like to use cheap shampoo and an expensive conditioner. Maybe that will help your budget. Since this is a hormonal issue, your dr may know something that will help. Maybe one of those leave in things like creams or hot oils will help too.
jensay (1420.8 days ago) i use suave and it workds just as good at the others & half the price
lovefranky (1420.8 days ago) i cut my hair and it looks so much healthier! conditioner that has proteins are good for your hair, try vive pro, i think thats the name. check the ingredients. use shampoo thats creamy, not clear and get a good creamy leave in conditioner. i just bought herbal escense hello hydration shampoo and the conditioner and i reallylike it, its bright blue bottles.
mrspooh (1420.8 days ago) i have really long, dry straight hair- and better than a lot of salon products is Garnier Fructis long and strong. They also have a hair masque conditioner and it really helps with dead ends and staticky hair. I also splurge and use `BioSilk` for smoothing my hair too, which depending on the size, is about 10 bucks but it lasts a long time.
frogsnack (1420.9 days ago) do not use pantene, it made my hair fall out and i`ve heard the same from other people.i use suave i know its cheap but it works.i also like herbel essence.
kimmarie (1421 days ago) You may also consider taking the vitamin `biotin`. It is for hair and nails. At Target I bought a bottle of 100 for $.99 ~ everywhere else they are quite expensive. Not sure why. I heard about this vitamin on the news by a doctor that comes on weekly. Good luck.
Mommy-2-B (1421.1 days ago) I use Tresseme `Anti-Breakage` shampoo and the same kind of conditioner...works great. Walmart $3-4 per bottle.
RobinG (1421.1 days ago) I`m such a dork, I meant to say Pantene, not pantex on the poll ~ thats what happens when you have 3 kids and one is an infant, lol. Brain freeze, lol ~ I meant Pantene Shampoo/Conditioner ~ TX!
monica9 (1421.2 days ago) im not a hairstylist, but I am around a lot of beauty sylists. my best friend used to be a hair dresser and my sister owns a spa/salon and they suggested I use a leave in conditioner 3 times a week. I also would rather spend my money on other things so I dont buy name brand all the time. I have been using a Pantene leave in mask and I have to tell you, my hair looks and feels smoother, shinier, and I have less split ends. I don`t know if thats just b/c I am pregnant, but since Ive been using it for the past 3 months, I have definitely seen a difference and its not expensive, maybe around $4-5.
