Ady-and-Maylies-Momma (286.3 days ago)Well, your comment wasn`t there when I wrote mine, so I guess it`s understandable for the being naked thing, but you have to think of your baby...not just yourself. Not trying to be mean AT ALL...it just worries me. I hope everything works out!
Ady-and-Maylies-Momma (286.3 days ago)I don`t think your `crazy`...but they usually only do the first initial pap and then don`t check again until dialation is expected (unless something seems to be going wrong). But I believe that they do the initial pap to check , like everybody else has said, to see if you`re `healthy`. I`ll admit...when I was pregnant with my daughter, they told me my pap was abnormal and I had HPV. I had to get a colposcopy done to check for cervical cancer. And it`s not that uncommon. Especially during pregnancy. Not saying that you are going to harm your child or anything, but if there is something `abnormal` about your cervix or uterus...or just down there in general, it could harm the baby. Just because everything was ok the first time, doesn`t mean that nothing could go wrong this time. Just take percausion with everything. And completely think it over. Paps only last 3-5 minutes...not forever. And a doctor sees so many of them things that he`s not going to remember you and laugh every time you walk into the office. Best of luck with everything, and congrats on your pregnancy!
Christina1984 (286.3 days ago)i havent been to a doc yet cuz of my insurance. ive been waiting to get ins again but they are giving me a hard time. i did make an appointment anyway but i dont know how i will pay. my fear of being naked is from childhood problems. i dont have to big of a prob with my fiance any more but i freaked out being naked in the begining.
Nan639 (286.5 days ago)`No hands or foreign objects`? You must be boring during sex. LOL Only kidding. :)
brooklyn143 (286.7 days ago)okay not to be blunt, but yeah that is a little crazy...there is a reason why they check you and a reason why people/machines are getting more advanced and we are becoming more educated...Havent you seen the satistics!
captshelley (286.8 days ago)Fear of being naked? How did you get pregnant? What about Marti Gras? JK
emy (286.9 days ago)I think it is importnant to have your first internal for a pap. Your body is different with each pregnancy and just because the first one went smoothly...doesn`t mean that this one will to. I was not checked after my 1st appointment until 38 weeks. I don`t know about others, but I would feel super guilty if I let my fear of being naked interfere with the health of my unborn child.
mamacakes (287 days ago)I dont get it either. What about paps and making sure your `healthy`? I think its foolish. But as kateohm stated, `to each their own I suppose`.
elmera (287.1 days ago)hey, if you dont wanna be examined you dont have to be, your choice!! good for you, trust your body and nature
Niamh-Jo (287.1 days ago)I am almost 35 weeks and have only had one internal and that was only because i was having contractions and they wanted to check if i was dilated (I wasn`t at all).. but other than that I wouldn`t have had to have any internal examinations at all.. I don`t know why it is so common in america, but i don`t hear of it happening much here. so Iwouldn`t worry about your decision not to have any internal exams etc, I don`t think it will make a difference because i doubt you would have a need for them anyway, all going well...
pink.N.blue (287.1 days ago)Im confused did you say your 19 weeks and havent been to the doctors yet..
absoluties (287.1 days ago)I`m 31 weeks, and so far the only time the doctor came close to me down there was at my first visit, and it was because I had pains, she checked if any miscarriage might be in sight. She told me she does not check me for the rest of my pregnancy unless I had bleeding or any serious signs... Don`t be scared cause it`s all for the baby`s good, and try to think of it this way: Babies are being born a lot healthier than in the past, and survival rate is way much higher, so these precaution methods must be working. Good luck!
leahs (287.2 days ago)I understand what you mean, the doctors where I live only to one internal exam at about 38wks and only if you want them to. Obviously you do have to be checked during labor but I respect women who prefer to have no internals done.
