captshelley (143.2 days ago)Also, no matter what, every mother worries when her baby sleeps. In a crib, in a bassinet, in a pack n` play, on a blanket or in your bed...they are all safe but our nerves won`t calm down for awhile, atleast for me.
captshelley (143.2 days ago)My daughter has only slept in the pack and play since day one, she`s 3 1/2 months now. She naps in there during the day and sleeps through the night in there. I put it on the other side of my room. We are both light sleepers so it`s far enough away not to disturb each other with tossing and turing but close enough to hear if she is really stirring or about to cry. I love it.
tiredmommy (144.1 days ago)I used a cute little bassinet for my daughter at first, but she didn`t seem comfortable in it. Naturally, she didn`t sleep well as a newborn - but the bassinet just seemed to make it worse. Also, they`re pretty small, so I was worried she would wiggle over to one side or the other and get her face too close to the side where she couldn`t breathe well. (I`m paranoid about SIDS.) Then I bought a pack-n-play at about 3-4 weeks old, and it made ALL the difference! Mine is basically considered a bassinet when the bottom is raised up closer to the top, so it`s nice and roomy. I just kept it next to my side of the bed, and laid her in there with nothing else. (I loved the sleep sacks you can buy for babies, where you don`t need a blanket for them!) She had plenty of room to wiggle, and if she got too close to the side it was OK b/c the sides are the mesh material. You can even buy sheets for pack-n-plays, but I never did. Whenever she spit up or had a leaky diaper, it was easy to just wipe it up. It would dry right away. I ended up keeping her in there until she was 6 mos old, then she began sleeping in her crib in her own room. I`ll be using it with my son when he`s born this summer!
