DANIELLELOVESMESUT`s poll Show results | Hide results

Baby-poll poll My daughter is 4 1/2 months and is super healthy and right on target for babies her age. (Actually the dr said she is bigger and taller than 90% of the babies her age!!) But he said only give her cereal until she is 6 months. When do you think it is a good time to start introducing her to solid fruits and veggies?

Does breast/milk formula not seem to be filling her up? That`s what I`d go by.

make sure to start off with single veggies first. usually greens first like green beans or peas & then to squash, carrots & sweet potatoes. You give her peas ONLY for a about 3 days straight so if she has an allergic reaction you can know what food it was too. If shes fine then give her green beans & so forth. I introduced fruits after veggies b/c some babies like the sweet more than the veggies so u don`t want her to not eat veggies at all. Happy Feeding =)

you should introduce soft fruits and vegetables without tough skin now. Btwn 8-10 months introduce textured fruits and vegetables and at 12 months you can introduce proteins and milk.

Well with my little ones at the same age I would give them Big long chunks of roast beef or fruit or strips of capsicum(red or yellow or green peppers I think Americans call them NOT the hot chilli ones. This gave the taste of new foods but nothing much to swollow. It also means for a less fussy eater and a child that is willing to try new things.Make sure that the pieces are small enough to hold ( rusk type size) but TOO BIG to get stuck in their mouth. My babies loved getting something like that while I was cooking dinner. I have had NO problems with any of them with this. :-)
