emy (279 days ago)I had the same thing happen to me. they sent me for a repeat in which he passed. I gave birth to a happy, healthy, screaming baby boy one week later. if you are worried ask questions! They should be very upfront and honest with you when it comes to the health of your baby
2xmommylee (279.2 days ago)Hes watching if the baby is practicing breathing to determine if the lungs are fully functional. It doesnt happen all day and only for about 10 mins or so each time - dont get too worried. He just didnt catch it at the right time.
jeanette (279.4 days ago)FYI, breathing is made possible by the diaphragm. It`s the muscle under your lungs (not a stomach muscle, it actually seperates your chest cavity from your abdominal cavity. In order to expand your lungs, you tighten it, pushing it down toward your belly and your lungs fill with air. When you relax it, it pulls back up into your chest and the air rushes out. Since your baby has no real need for it at the moment, he decided not to use it, probably because he was extremely relaxed.
jeanette (279.4 days ago)Nope, nothing wrong. Your baby doesn`t have to move his diaphragm at all until after he`s born if he doesn`t want to. Some cold water would have been a better tool to wake him up though. Think about what happens when you walk a baby around in your arms: they fall asleep.
