38 weeks is not early.maybe 36 weeks or less then that it is.

well if the doctor highly recommends it then i would take their advice :( i really wanted to deliver vaginally and it didn`t happen that way b/c i was on the verge of preclampsia (high blood pressure duging pregnancy) so at 36 weeks and one day he took the baby :) it is all worth it no matter which way you deliver to see that baby after so long! You are not any less of a mother if you go c section! good luck sweety

My doctor really likes to push it to the 39 week, if everything is going well.

I am having twins and have to have a caesarean because my twin-1 is breech. I am raging I can`t go the natural way, but I have to do it this way. Mine is scheduled for 38 weeks (22nd April). Don`t have one unless you have to; it is much much better to go the natural way -- do the research! Read up on it. I would much rather be having a natural delivery. My mother keeps trying to reassure me, saying, `Niamh, at least you don`t have to go through labour!` I tell her I`d much rather go through that than be cut open thanks very much.

I think it really depends on what your doctor says, if you or the baby is in danger, they can usually do it at about 35-36 weeks but only in an emergency c-section i believe.
