mommy2be707 (171 days ago)thank you every one so much im still gonna sk my doctor first but ill let you know what she said ok :}ready (175.6 days ago)I wouldn`t.
mrsbotti07 (175.7 days ago)I`ll probably get scolded for this. But with my first pregnancy I tanned ALL the time. Not so much in the first trimester... But you bet I was in the 2nd &3rd. I wasnt going long amounts of time so I figured it was ok. My doc was cool she said docs tell you not too becuase of the skin cancer factor. There has been nothing to prove it damages the baby. My 3 yr old is just fine! So was my breast feeding!
lacilynn6 (176.2 days ago)my mom is the owner of a tanning salon and is safe tan certified. there are no chemicals from tanning beds. being out in the sun for too long is worse than NOT overheating in a tanning bed. thats the only thing that could harm you, overheating. not radiation or chemicals. OVERHEATING. the only reason why women dont usually tan while prego is b/c uneducated women think they know everything `frown` upon it. but do what you want as long as you dont overheat your body it is safe.
pinkdirtrider (176.5 days ago)I would say NO! Just because you can get really hot while tanning and your little one gets even hotter! I am not sure exactly what the effects of overheating the baby are, but I know that it is not a good thing! Just use the lotions, they are almost as good. I was a tanorexic until I found out I was pregnant and now I just use the lotions.
Juniper (176.7 days ago)The only reason I wouldn`t do it is because I`ve heard that too much tanning makes you skin way more suseptible to stretch marks.. and I wouldnt` want to encourage that lol
Sadielady (176.8 days ago)im pretty sure doctors advise against it,, dont think there are any studies though.. just bake out in the sun, thats what ive been doing.
zenzabar (176.8 days ago)hehehe...people are so silly. There`s no chemicals or radiation. You actually get vitamin D from tanning beds just like the sun.
monica9 (176.9 days ago)no! tanning beds are terrible and the chemicals and radiation they release are outstanding. If you cant live without a tan for next few months then try to get in the real sun!
kathleen (176.9 days ago)y don`t u spray tan, its just as good
RobinG (176.9 days ago)To risky IMO ~ I wouldnt do it. Even if you take all the safely precautions what IF you did accidently get to overheated or something happened? Not worth the risk. I would use a self tanner or go in the sun or just enjoy your beatiful natural color :) Have hheard the sprya on ones are great too :) I get more compliments on my skin tone and lack of many wrinkles etc because I never tan and although I do get some tan when outdoors and I use a tanning lotion I dont go out of my way to get a tan. I will be 41 and my skin tone has never shown the wrinkles like many I know younger who always tanned :) JMO
zenzabar (177.3 days ago)Sorry, I missed the every `other` day part. I think that`s fine.
zenzabar (177.3 days ago)I used to work for a tanning salon and was safe tan certified. It is safe for your baby as long as you don`t overheat. Stay hydrated and make sure you go when the salon hasn`t been busy, the less people tanning at once or in the bed before you mean the tanning bed will be cooler. Just don`t over do it and you and your baby will be fine. With that said, I think once a day is over doing it. You do not need to tan every day to keep a tan you will only be damaging your skin. A couple times a week is really all you need.
riknlee (177.4 days ago)I wouldnt do it anytime. short stints in the sun but not a tanning bed.
mommy2be707 (177.4 days ago)professorpreggers thats why i plan on staying in only for 10 mins
and stay hydrated
professorpreggers (177.4 days ago)The reading that I did on the subject suggested that the problem was with overheating the body.
captshelley (177.4 days ago)that`s not true for me about breastfeeding and clogged ducts. I`ve been tanning since 2 weeks after delivery and BF fine.
ll bree ll (177.4 days ago)personally i wouldnt, because of all the rays and such. use a fake tan til you pop :P i also heard that if you tan while breastfeeding it can clog your ducts.
captshelley (177.4 days ago)Tempting but I don`t think it`s a great idea. I`ve read some exposure to the sun is good for their eye development but a tanning bed seems to intense no matter the length of time. Besides that some women are more succeptable to burning when preggo. Bad thing is that you won`t know if tanning causes damage until your baby is born. Tough call.
