Name-poll poll Do you think it`s appropriate to name a baby after a beloved family member even if they passed away from a drug overdose?

Absolutely- it shows true unconditional love- you loved that person, despite a mistake. We all make mistakes- it shouldn`t negate all the good we are or have done. Besides, it will make an impact with your child when he is old enough to understand.

We are giving our son my hunnys brothers name for our sons middle name-Scott.. His brother Scott commited suicide about 8 years ago and although I don`t agree with suicide and it`s an awful tragic thing, hunny loved his brother dearly and our son is being named after him because of hunnys love for his brother-NOT because of how Scott left this world...So if that person was special to you then I`d say it`s perfectly fine to use their name.

and it does not mean your child is going to follow in his/her footsteps. u love and miss that person 4 who they were not what they did so keep their memory alive by using their name to name your child if thats what u really want.xx

Exactly :) Just cause they died that way doesnt mean they were a bad person inside ~ esp if they are dear to you ~
