i had a home birth 16 days ago and it was fantastic, i would recommend it to anyone (as long as there are no complications during pregnancy). it was very relaxed and you have more choices..in my hospital you are only allowed two birthing partners whereas at home you can have almost who you like, so my sister was able to be there along with my partner and mom. the midwife had left within an hour of me giving birth and we were able to just bond as a family, we have three other children who wouldn`t have been allowed to see their sister so soon if i had been in hospital as she was born in the early hours. if you are booked to give birth in a midwife led unit you would have to be transferred anyway if there were any problems. i was told by my midwife that because of where my house is it would be quicker to transfer me from home anyway, so i would speak to your midwife about your options.xx

No way, if there were complications i would be too afraid that they wouldnt have the things they needed to help my child. I couldnt imagine the worst.. my new born being rushed to the hospital because something went wrong. i prefer a controlled safe place.

If I have any more kids I would love to have a home birth, that being said the dr`s/midwives were I live will only allow that if it`s not your first child and your previous and present pregnancies were uncomplicated. I personally had all my babies with no complications no drugs and very quicky, it`s just not for everyone.

I have had one child and it was in the hospital. I have a very healthy respect for life and how quickly it can be taken away. I believe that God gives us the ability to hang onto it when we are up againts the impossible. I would never want to find myself in that position outside of a hospital. I want to put my babies health and life above my comfort. I`ve been uncomfortable for the past 28weeks being pregnant, what is another day. Sorry, if I offended anyone. I see you are having number 7, so you know that all children and deliveries are different even if you have been lucky up until now.

I would consider it but probably stick to the hospital. I like every medical professinal around when something like this is happening.
