I had my membranes stripped at my 39 week appt, and nothing happened. I ended up going into labor on my due date and having het 2 1/2 days later. I don`t think it had anything to do with my membranes being stripped. But it has worked for some people...I guess it depepnds on how ready your cervix and the baby is...best of luck!

I have had three babies and the first two were slow labours so I had the membranes ruptured and it didnt really bring on labour any faster, but it did make each contraction a wet gushy experience. during the second baby`s labour, I had to sit down with nothing on from the waist down as everytime I contracted a big gush came out.
