kristenpaxton (124 days ago)That is completely normal. I had to pump and use that from the bottle to get my son to even think about taking it. After that i started mixing the breast milk and formula together...each week droppin the amount of breastmilk and upping the formula until he was drinking straight formula. Im guessing switching from breastmilk to formula 4 them is about the equivilent of us switching from coke to diet coke lol.
Edit
DeleteMisty26 (136.1 days ago)introduce btreastmilk to formula gradually
Edit
Deleteheatmacd (138.5 days ago)Formula has a completely fifferent taste than breastmilk, its quite normal for babies to refuse it the first time. Try mixing the two together, first mostly breastmild... then slowly start adding more formula to the mix!
Edit
DeleteRobinG (142.8 days ago)When introducing Formula you need to mix breast milk with the formula ~ you mix just before feeding ~ start out at 3 parts breast milk for a few days then 50/50 then 1 part breast milk until she transitions :)
Edit
Deletekathleen (142.8 days ago)also after she has had those few oz`s i do give her the breast
Edit
Deletepregosharpe (143.3 days ago)What I did when I switched over, was half formula and half breastmilk so she could get used to the taste.. also our Ped. suggested Similac advance as the best formula for breastfed babies something about it being easier on their little tummies. Good luck!
Edit
Deletekathleen (143.4 days ago)yep my daughter was the same so i changed the formula to a diffrent type but she will only take about 3oz before she wants the breast again. i`m just going to keep giving it her untill she grows use to it.
