mrsbotti07 (135.8 days ago)I decided to find out for my own knowledge and preparation, as well as my doctors ( he wanted to know before hand if there were any risks) Regardless we would keep the baby and love it more than anything. We did it as a precaution
MSUSpartan (137 days ago)I decided to find out so I would be prepared to care for them if they were to be born with some problems. I couldn`t abort because of emotional ties....has nothing to do with religion. That`s my child and they need me....that was all I needed to think about. As it turned out the tests came back fine. I agree with the other comment....if they became disabled later on in life, I`d still be there and care for them the best I could.
KateOhm (137.6 days ago)You have to deal with what God hands you.
kater (137.6 days ago)i also agree with karen. no one is ever given too much for them to handle, we had a stressful few weeks earlier, when we were told we had the possibility of having a baby with downs. i completely refused amnio, because of the risks, and we decided we wanted this baby, no matter what, and it wasn`t worth the risk of being 100% certain.
my brother has spina bifida, and i have often wondered at the strength my parents had to deal every day with a child who had such big health issues. my mother says though, she loves him, and at least he has had a chance at life, and wouldn`t have it any other way. you never know what you are capable of until you are tested.
RobinG (137.7 days ago)I didnt want to know fully either ~ unless you would consider an abortion if a certain chromosome abnormalty is confirmed via amnio and other tests I see no reason to find out ~ I did have some tests but not all or to decide `what to do`. Just for my own knowledge to prepare ~ I was 40 when preggers and had the PAPP-A protein test, the Nucal scan and other scans but refused the qaud blood work and amnio ~ no reason for it since I wasnt going to abort anyhow ~
kateohm (137.8 days ago)If the baby was born `normal` but became disabled later in life would you still love it? Of course so you should love it before birth just the same.
agonzales (137.8 days ago)I agree with Karen. I didnt take the test because we thought even if the baby was sick in some way we are gonna keep it. I also believe that God doesnt give us more than we can handle and no matter what thats my child, I will love and keep it no matter what.
KarenVG (137.8 days ago)I never do the teats because I want a healthy unstressful pregnancy but still think of what we will do if... We believe God only gives you what you can handle and these children with disabilites can teach us alot. I am not too worried I no it would be alot of work and commitment but the love would still be the same...
