dont worry about public pools and germs. Thats the whole point in chlorine to kill the germs. I take Imogen every week and she loves it we have had no problems at all. IMO the longer you wait the harder it will be and your baby wont like it as much.

Don`t be in a rush to take your baby swimming. I took my daughter at 13 months. I was going to take her around 6 months, but all my friends` kids kept getting sick EVERY SINGLE TIME they went swimming. I didn`t think it was worth it.

My son didnt go into a pool for a long time. deffinately over 6 months... my daughter went into a public pool for the first time just recently and she`s 2 years old

i took my daughter to a public pool for the 1st time when she was 4 mths old after she had, had all her jabs.

i`m keeping my daughter out of public pools until 6 months due to the excessive use of chemicals. her doctor recommended it. if i owned a pool she`d have been in it already.

My mum had me in the pool when I was 8 weeks old and my brother and sister in at 4 weeks old. Since I am having a summer baby, she will definitely be in the pool around a month old too.

My only baby is still in utero, but I wouldn`t put baby in a public pool until over 6 months at least. Too many germs or chemicals.
