I am a nail technician. My doc says the fumes are harmless for starters. And secondly, I have been getting my nails done for upwards 15 years. my doc knows this and has no prob. with it. I have never had an issue with my health or the babies health either. The only thing that my doc did ask is that i have no polish on for delivery. Go for it girl! get those nails done!

I used to get my nails done all the time in my first pregnancy, I have never heard that it is harmful to ababy

I would say don`t do it. Not because of fumes etc but because they hospital may have to cut them off especially if you have a ceaser. The reason being they need to be able to see your nail bed for blood supply. You may have read in the past it always says remove all jewellary, wear no products on your skin and make sure nail polish is removed when going in for surgery of any kind. Good luck mate!!!

I had a toe fungus from a salon before I got pregnant. I still get my toes done and I didn`t realize that it might harm my daughter. I had never heard that before. I would say though that toenail fungi are not fun. Now my big toenail isn`t fully attached and just the other day (like 2 days ago) 3/4 of it fell off (again). But, I do still get pedicures cuz I just love them. And if I get another toe fungus I`ll get straight to the podiatrists next times. I had no idea before. Good luck. Sorry I cant be of more help.

I think that you should worry about inhailing all the chemicals and particles in the salon. I get light headed in there even when I am not pregnant. Just be safe. I have wanted to dye my hair but am too afraid of inhailing the fumes.
