kristenpaxton (216 days ago)They arent very comfortable for a baby to be sleeping in all the time if you ask me. It would be similar to sleeping on a carpeted floor. Another thing i thought i would mention is that they arent that much different in size. You might try getting a portable crib. They are slightly smaller than a normal crib or pack and play and will accomodate the average baby until 18 months. Just a thought....
BabyGonzales (217.2 days ago)Oh ya I got mine at Burlington coat factory. Not sure if you have one where you live. I also got the bedding there. They have some really cute bedding sets. They also have them at Target like RobinG said and mine actually looks alot like the one she sent a link to. Good luck on finding what you need.
BabyGonzales (217.2 days ago)Never had a pack n play but with my youngest daughter we bought a porta crib which like everyone else said its a crib but a mini one. It doesnt take up alot of room and its portable and you can fold it up and put it away when your child grows out of it. We plan to use it again for this baby.
mdbabyno1 (217.3 days ago)You should look into the mini cribs. We are very short on space, only have a one bedroom condo but it`s not the time to sell it so we are going to try and make it work for a little while. I devoted one wall in the bedroom to the baby`s nursery. It has turned out really cute and I have gotten a lot of complements on what a great idea it was. Of course we had to down size on our furniture but it seems to work.
tto (217.3 days ago)There is precious little difference between the size of a pack and play and a crib. I have both and that surprised me. The pack and play is somewhat more versatile since it has a changing station, but cribs usually turn into a toddler bed and sometimes a headboard for twin beds. So really it is a toss up- the size shouldn`t really be much of a consideration. If you travel much, the pack and play is definitely handy for that.
RobinG (217.3 days ago)Yeah cause as your baby grows and gets heavier the thin padding just isnt comfortable for a full nights sleep ~ naps yes or short term travel ~ maybe get one for those 6 inch foams used for cushins and make a mattress thicker for it but the bending is a pain too.
jenakers (217.3 days ago)The pack and play I have is the equivilant to a pull out sleeper/sofa..not very comfortable and I wouldn`t want my child to sleep on that surface regularly, but with a proper mattress, I don`t see how it would be any different from a crib. You might get tired of bending all the way down to pick up your baby everytime though.
Courtney-Halpain (217.3 days ago)I am in that same situation...and we got one for our daughter and she liked it...we got a graco one at target
RobinG (217.3 days ago)This one includes the mattress ~ and shows how it folds up incase you want to fold it for more room sometime ~

I would look into a wooden porta crib ~ they are like a crib but smaller ~ and have a mattress ~ a mattress will be much more comfortable then and pack n play`s pad which isnt very thick for long term use IMO ~ OPrta cribs are wooden and just smaller then a standard crib ~ they are often used in hotels and fold down for easy storage :) Here is one ~ but you can search wooden portable crib ~
