They do make a lot of twists and turns and can get tangled in the cord. However, the cord is thick and very stiff- so that helps. Drs. have also told me it doesn`t usually cause a problem around their neck. It can cause a problem, but it isn`t always a problem.

I don`t know the degree of their turns but they do turn and the cord does get tangled. My son was born with his cord around his neck.

Yes, they can make full turns and sometimes they tie their cord in a knot doing so.
