cherryrose (119.5 days ago)I used a double electric pump... I nurse my son before work and then I pump 3x at work, then i nurse when i get home... If you are just trying to have milk to freeze then try pumping after you feed the baby, it will help empty out your breasts and it will help your milk supply...Good luck!!!
mcnorton (120.2 days ago)Try pumping on one side while you are feeding on the other. Even if I only got a couple of ounces, I would just put it in the fridge and add to it throughout the day, and then freeze the milk for storage. Breast milk can be stored at room temp for about 10 hours, so keeping it in the fridge for a day, then freezing it is no problem.
annette (120.9 days ago)i dont think it matters but do it after a bath or shower if you cant do that warm up a flannel or face washer. and it only takes half an hour to make milk so empty breasts after u are he/she has had enough. you may only get a couple of mls but it adds up. and make sure you drink water while you feed and while you pump.
mariettap (121.1 days ago)I agree w/ Samantha, below. Also, whatever you do, if you respond to the demand of your baby every time, and pump on a *very*regular*schedule* (right after feedings or on alternate breasts, whatever you choose), then your body will respond to the demand.
sadielady (121.3 days ago)my son was early, so i had no milk and he didnt latch on. so at first i was pumping ALLL the time. later on i would pump after feedings. when he started eating less. i would just pump whenever i felt full. its up to you, theres no right or wrong way. good luck!
alex76 (121.3 days ago)I would say when the temperature is hottest, ie midday, the warmer you are the easier it is for your milk to be expressed
tto (121.3 days ago)My nursing class said you can start pumping after wk 4. They also said to pump after your child is fed- then you`ll pump your leftovers and increase your milk supply. And of course, pump when you feel full or when you would normally feed your baby but for some reason can`t. The most important thing for nursing, as you probably know, is drinking like a gallon of water a day and making sure you`re eating plenty of good fat for brain development.
